I have a natural urge to smooth things over in my personal life by talking, to try to reach a resolution that is calm and reasoned, and so I originally had the characters sit down and talk their feelings over with each other. Then I remembered that sex can be therapeutic in and of itself, especially after an argument when the right words simply cannot be summoned because emotions are too raw. And I am writing an erotic romance, after all.
Sometimes you just need to burn off that outer layer of anger with a good, hard fucking so that the right words can emerge afterwards.
Well, I'm very glad you didn't. This was a perfect follow on. And you are absolutely right, that physical hard fucking comes before the words, but the way you wrote it with Harold demonstrating controlled intense dominance was spot-on.
Great scene this was. I loved the exploration of her pushing through discomfort, possibly pain, then transmuting it and yielding. Not something we see in genre a lot I think.
